My good friend Maria and her fabulously tattooed mate were easily was easily the happiest bikers I saw all night and earned themselves not one but two entries in the coveted 'Snakebite' gallery this week !

Ok - So I though we'd try a new approach this week !! ... for several reasons:

1 . Not everyone comes to Poole down Holes Bay Road|

2. The Police won't let me park the Photo Bus on the verge and the sun's in the wrong place on the nearside this time of year

3. I thought the roundabout would give some extra 'dynamix' to the pix ... and f**k me it certainly did that

As you all know it was a scorcher of an evening and the bikes on the roundabout were bloody manic - I took 1000 shots before the Event even officially opened at 6.00 pm .... by 7.30 I had filled all 5 memory cards - unheard of previously . I've whittled around 4000 shots down to the best 1500 so if you just wanna whiff of what ya missed here's a smalleselection of some of my favorite pix of the night

R.I.P. ~ Look Mum No Hands

I guess it was only a matter of time before what began as a tongue in cheek gallery of naughty boys came to the attention of the plod courtesy of horrified motorists fearing for life and limb (theirs of course not yours) as the more exuberant amongst you felt compelled to show your appreciation of me freezing my ass off on the roadside . Some of you may have noticed the good natured conversation with the motorcycle cop around 6.45 pm who didn't buy my story that I was photographing the sunset over the harbour and bloody bikers insisted on getting in on the act - by virtue of the fact he and his buddies had already checked out the website and admired the many fine entries in the 'Look Mum No Hands' category.

 He then proceeded to quote the bye law I was contravening by parking a 3.5 ton bus on the verge - no problem with taking the photos apparently provided I moved the bus !!  ... oh .. and stopped 'encouraging' boys to ride in a manner not conducive with public health safety by removing the 'Look Mum'  galleries.

I put it to him that I was a positive 'calming' influence these days as 99% of you boyz and girlz slowed down for a pic  (true) rather riding like bats out of hell- but he insisted the only reason you were cruising past us at that moment was because he had a big blue flashy light on his bike parked by the roadside (also true)

As anyone who knows me will testify (particularly my ex- wife) I have never been in trouble with the law before (?) and as one who would prefer to be perceived as a respectable role model for responsible young photographers (??) have decided its probably for the best to concur before someone scrapes their knees or worse - so remember boyz please ride sensibly from now on and eat up all the your greens like your Mum tells you
